Some Secret Ideas are useless

Jason Fried of 37signals talks about why you should give your best ideas away to your customers. Just like the great chefs of the world showing us how to make, step by step amazing Italian dishes, they don't fear competition opening up tomorrow next to their resto.


I've always believed that information needs to be shared to people in your organization to force movement to the next levels, but now there is an equally important reason.

All Great Ideas (even the ones you are keeping secret) are already out there on the web somewhere, and it is all boils down to execution. It's not anymore about Great Ideas... it's about having the ability as an individual or as an organization to make things happen.
